Today’'s motorways and highways are dangerous environments where a rapid response to a situation is often critical. Over 90% of the Swiss road network depends on our roadside emergency telephones which connect stranded motorists with a central office. Our system can allow base operators not just to speak directly to the roadside caller but to observe the situation via remote control CCTV. The operator is able to connect to the emergency services via the TETRA network and even place them in direct contact with the motorist. More Road

We can create fully integrated communications systems that allow port operators to remotely control and coordinate complex working environments. Our versatile systems are able to operate passenger information and public address systems as well as facilitating communications between dockside managers, access points and shipping. No two ports are identical but in collaborating with port operators we can provide a communications system which meets the precise needs of a given location.More Ports

Handling high volume passenger flow is a key part of the TDM portfolio. We meet the need for high vigilance in security conscious environments and the requirement for reliable customer information from car park to airport gate. We create site specific systems which provide a communications network that puts a central operator in control of the passenger information as well as the ability to coordinate airside engineers and emergency services.More Airports

For large industrial complexes such as oil refineries and gas terminals, we offer central management of access points, public address systems and CCTV as well as remote environmental monitoring such as fire detection and accompanying alarm systems. This enables a high level of security to be maintained in large high risk areas.More Energy

Our leading edge technology operates very effectively to maintain public safety in urban city centres. As well as providing a network of public information Help Points we are also able to install monitoring systems that can detect environmental events such as landslides, fire, and flood which can be combined with a public address system to play pre-recorded emergency warnings. Central operators can also coordinate emergency services while monitoring situations on CCTV. More Public Safety

Solving the problem of station drop-off congestion

Solving the problem of station drop-off congestion

Dropping off or picking up a rail traveller by car can be an important part of the passenger experience but if drivers outstay their welcome it can lead to congestion. Our solution is simple, effective and fair to all. Using Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) we have successfully installed and operated a new system at the drop-off point of a major UK railway station. The innovative concept allows passengers 2 minutes to arrive, drop off and exit without causing congestion - providing a fairer deal for everyone. TDM’s fully IP-based system will monitor car number plates; internally processing the arrival and departure times and then sending the details of any vehicles that linger too long to a central database so that penalty charge notices can be issued to the vehicle owner. The ANPR software can work in normal daylight or at night using infra red to clearly pick out any number plate. Trans Data Management are looking at other stations on the rail network to develop the new system; TDM CEO Geoff Vaughan explained: ‘Congestion at drop off points by idle drivers can unfairly disrupt other passenger’s journeys. The idea allows an equal waiting time for all and we are very proud that TDM’s technology can give the concept the solution required.’ The latest installation of our technology has been so successful that the outlay for the system is being very quickly balanced by the recovery of the parking fines. We are now speaking to other customers about future deployment, if you have a situation where forecourt congestion is a problem, please call Paul Mead on 01293 516 691 or click here. /

Are unmanned stations scaring away passengers?

Are unmanned stations scaring away passengers?

Unmanned and remote stations can leave passengers feeling vulnerable and reluctant to travel on the rail network. With 46,688 crimes reported to the British Transport Police last year alone, there is no doubt that a station with no visible members of staff can result in passengers feeling insecure about their safety. This lack of confidence can not only come from a safety perspective but also an information perspective. A passenger should be regularly informed of when a train will arrive either via station announcements or real-time displays. An absence of this information will hinder travel from that station in the future. At these stations, it is essential that there is a clear point of contact for the public. TDM’s range of Passenger Help Points offers just that. Our distinct white, round Help Points are easily identifiable and as pioneers of the original design from the 1990s have been installed for many Train Operating Companies in the UK. TDM’s range of high-quality, vandal- resistant Help Points will be able to provide direct information and assistance to the public. Once the Help Point button is pressed, this then allows the public to speak directly to an operator from any location. The operator is also able to observe the member of public via CCTV to monitor any emergency situations. To find out more about our range of Help Points please click here. Help Points for multi-storey Car Parks

Help Points for multi-storey Car Parks

Rail passenger numbers are growing each year and UK Railway stations are undergoing major developments to be able to meet the demand of increasing passengers. A busy UK railway station, which annually sees 4.5 million passengers pass through the station, has recently implemented a £35 million regeneration project. This project will deliver major benefits to the station’s passengers. One of these benefits is a new multi-storey car park, which will provide 1,057 car park places to station users. This will greatly reduce the amount of traffic congestion outside the railway station. Trans Data Management was chosen to install 4 WebCIS Help Points within the multi-storey car park for this regeneration project. These vandal-resistant, car park Help Points will be able to provide remote assistance to station users as well as displaying real-time train running times. Customer Information Solutions

Customer Information Solutions

To see the full extent of our Customer Information Solutions Package we have a new pdf available for download. Handling customer information is a specialisation at TDM. Our TDM Server can communicate key information to display screens that can be located in public areas such as on rail platforms, airport terminals and bus stations. The information can be co-ordinated by a central operator with the facility to make announcements via public address. Our multimedia communication points are designed to display information in remote areas such as airport car parks, linked to the system through GSM. We can also adapt the technology to be used by taxi companies enabling a customer to automatically call the closest available taxi.
